About Nayan Savla

Its been an interesting journey so far and I am enjoying it. If the Flash doesn’t load then you probably don’t have the latest flash player and the flex framework cached. www.toyota.com would be nice site to go and get the framework cached :D.

Best way to reach me is nayansavla [at] gmail, or if you want can follow me on twitter @desidiver,

    Hi Nayan

Do you have Forum kind of stuff on your Blog? Where, people can ask you questions and you may reply them if you like.

Just a thought. You seem to be an interesting personality to interact with.

Found very interesting while surfing on your site.
Would you let me know the name of the actual company that hired the fateful diver who died at puriliya.

    Hi Nayan,

I don’t know if you can help me, or lead me in the right direction?

I am in the process of creating an interactive sculpture. I want the audience to able to tweet with the sculpture.

The piece will be created in flash then projected onto a screen. The viewer will only see the projected screen.

Live tweets will trigger flash animation.

Where do I begin? I am an intermediate AS3 user, I just don’t know where to start with the twitter interaction?

    Thank you,
    Chris S

there are lot of ways you can do this, you will have to create your animations in flash such that they can be triggered on a function call, i am not sure how complex this structure is or how the animation should look. for the tweets you can use the twitter API to keep track of tweets with certain hash tag, it can be done from flash or outside of it. there should be some libraries which are built for twitter i am sure.

then its just a matter of hooking up these two components together, if its the same flash file then should be straightforward or if you use javascript for twitter then just using externalinterface you can expose those functions which can be called from js.

hope this makes sense and is helpful.
